This Privacy Policy explains how DealMoth handles information when you use the DealMoth website or Chrome extension.
DealMoth is designed to compare prices for supported AI services while collecting as little information as possible. The website and extension work differently, so their data practices are described separately below.
1. DealMoth Chrome Extension
How the extension works
When you open the DealMoth Chrome extension, it reads the URL of your active tab to determine whether you are viewing a supported AI provider and model. If a supported page is recognized, DealMoth uses that information to display the relevant fixed-preset price comparison.
This processing takes place on your device. DealMoth uses the hostname and exact URL path for recognition and does not use page text or query parameters for model detection.
Information the extension can access
DealMoth uses Chrome's activeTab permission. This gives the extension temporary access to the active tab when you invoke it. It does not give DealMoth persistent access to all websites or tabs.
DealMoth does not inspect the contents of the page or its DOM. It does not read your prompts, selected generation settings, cookies, passwords, payment information, browsing history, or unrelated tabs.
Storage and sharing
The active-tab URL is used temporarily to provide the comparison and is not saved by DealMoth.
DealMoth does not:
- store your browsing activity;
- create a profile of your browsing activity;
- send the active-tab URL, detected provider or model, or related identifiers to DealMoth servers or third parties;
- use analytics or telemetry to transmit this information; or
- sell personal data.
The extension does not require a DealMoth account.
Links to AI providers
The data used to generate price comparisons is packaged with the extension. Displaying a comparison therefore does not require DealMoth to send your active-tab URL to an AI provider or to a DealMoth server.
If you choose to click a provider link, your browser will open that provider's website. Your use of that website is then governed by the provider's own terms and privacy policy.
DealMoth currently does not add affiliate or tracking parameters to these provider links.
2. DealMoth Website
The DealMoth website provides static AI price-comparison pages.
The model filter operates in your browser. Text entered into the filter is not sent to or stored by DealMoth.
DealMoth does not currently use its own analytics or tracking cookies on the website, and the website does not require user accounts or operate a DealMoth backend for these comparison pages.
The website is hosted using Cloudflare Pages. As the hosting and network provider, Cloudflare may process technical information associated with requests to the website, such as information ordinarily transmitted when your browser connects to a website. Cloudflare's handling of that information is governed by its own policies.
3. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
DealMoth's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Information obtained through Chrome APIs is used only to provide DealMoth's user-facing comparison functionality. DealMoth does not use that information for advertising or human review and does not transfer it to third parties except as permitted by the applicable Chrome Web Store policies.
4. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if DealMoth's features or data practices change materially. The date at the top of this page will indicate when the policy was last updated.
